Default Q about bonding in DoA

last nite i tryed to run bonder build in DoA, usually i run HB or SB. my guildie who prefers running bonder told me some time ago that he's not getting any exp or LB points for bonding there. oh and of cos when monk's not getting exp no gems/items drop for him/her i thought that it might be some bug in certain area or smth, but when i tryed bonding myself i've noticed that unless i recast bonds on tank AFTER he establishes aggro, i'm not getting any exp/LB whatsoever. i dont want to rush in to recast bonds on tank cos its too easy to break aggro in DoA to risk it often, so the only way for me to get some exp/LB points here and there was to cast some bond on eles after they start to burn, however in some areas mobs shatter enchants so eles try to avoid having even fire attunm on them, i dont want to kill them for the sake of getting couple LB points...

so how do u get exp/LB points in DoA w/o recasting bonds on tank mid-fight?

It is a known issue, I have taken to running in and wanding (just once!) when the meteor showers start falling! I didnt seem to have too many problems (didnt die once on last city run), just dont stand around in aggro range! The other thing that helps is to cast an extra bond (life) on any ele attracting aggro, this helps keeps ele alive and helps you with xp drops etc.

After the tank has established the aggro, and your eles/necros are about to attack, start putting Life Barrier on them. NOT Life Bond, because if any of these folks gets hit with a big spike, you will also take damage, and you don't wanna risk your life going under 50%, cause then you lose your Barrier on the tank, and then start taking even MORE damage from his Bonds. Phew.... *takes a breath*

Even just having a Barrier on one of the attackers will get you xp/LB. But if you a good enough bonder, Life Barrier on all (cept monks) will be greatly appreciated and helpful for the duration of that battle.

It's not about it being more effective, its necessary to keep the tank energy bar fueled, and more of a back protection for him. Additional bonding/barriers for the rest of the team during a battle is often times a big help too. So, no an active prot or heal cannot replace the bonder. Along with the bonder, 2 other monks are often brought along... the Spellbreaker monk takes care of a little bit of Protection with Prot Spirit, Dismiss Conditions, etc... and the Healer's Boon monk, who is more active healing, with Heal Party, Dwayna's Kiss, and another direct heal...

That answer your Q at all?
cheers

there r 3 monks - SB, HB and bonder - in every DOA run. SB is active prot - its the hardest monk build to run there imho, SB monky brings SQ and spams prot spirit on casters and keeps SB on tank and does some backup heals with dwainas and so on and so on... each monk will get a gem from the chest, so if u're after gems only, stop worrying, u'll get it if party survive. of cos u can monk for a few foundry runs in a row, get couple of titans gems, sell 1 and it'll pay for the rest of gemset - it'll work 2 if u dont want to finish all quests.
its just seems unfair that bonder dosnt get any exp/LB points, i'm always getting the exp rewards after all quests in all areas, i got her past 5 mil exp w/o any 55 farming, so i'm trying to figure out what should i do to get my exp in DoA when i have to bond.

thanks for the info guys, seems like recasting bonds on eles after each aggro is the easiest option, thats what i'm going to do.
